Sketches

These drawings represent my exploration of the core principles taught in Art Fundamentals—perspective, value, proportion, composition, and observational accuracy. Each piece challenged me in a different way.

The portrait and figure drawings pushed me to study real-life proportions and subtle shading, capturing expression and posture through graphite alone. The still-life exercises helped me understand form, light, and how shadows create depth. The architectural sketches taught me to control perspective lines and think structurally, building believable spaces from simple shapes. The object studies, including the mannequin hands and geometric blocks, were about breaking down complex forms into basic volumes and then rebuilding them through shading.

Together, these works show my growth in technical skill and confidence—learning to see more intentionally, draw more patiently, and build compositions from the ground up. They’re the foundation of everything I create moving forward.
